We are very pleased to have been recognised by the Oxford University Department for Continuing Education in this year’s Oxford Lifelong Learning Inspiring Excellence People Awards.
The Centre for Teaching and Learning was announced as University Partner of the Year by Professor Matthew Weait, Director of the Department at a ceremony at Rewley House last week.

In announcing the award, Professor Weait said of the Centre, ‘This is a wonderful example of a truly collegial team that encourages and promotes collaborative work across the University. The Centre has invited Department for Continuing Education colleagues to participate in a number of major projects and initiatives that contribute positively to the reputation of the Department and which enable us to raise our profile. Our ambition to become a global centre of excellence in lifelong learning, to support our colleagues in their pedagogical skills, and to embrace the digital future means that the Centre will be an ever more important partner.’.
Following the announcement, Professor Rhona Sharpe, Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning, said ‘It is wonderful to be acknowledged in this way. One of the goals of the Centre is to partner with divisions, other professional services and students to support and enhance Oxford’s outstanding personalised teaching for the future, and this award recognises how positive these partnerships can be in practice.’.
The Oxford Lifelong Learning Inspiring Excellence People Awards, or OLLIEs, celebrate the contribution and commitment of people in the Department for Continuing Education, as well as those who have supported the work of the Department, to help it to achieve its objectives.
