Fang Xu is a first-year DPhil in Education student at St Catherine’s College, Oxford.
As part of her internship at the Centre for Teaching and Learning, Fang is working on the Student transition to Oxford project.
There are two motivations for me to take part in this internship project. To begin with, as a researcher studying education inequality and achievement gaps, I am hoping to get some inspiration through the insights into the challenges that freshers are facing and how Oxford help students’ transit from secondary school to higher education. In addition, as an Asian minority student from China, I am hoping to promote a more inclusive academic environment for minority students to make them feel 'academic belonging' through the internship.
