Jacqueline is a Korean-Australian student from Sydney, Australia who completed her English undergraduate degree at Oxford in 2021.
Inspired by the conspicuous absence of First Nations writing from Australia and other Pacific regions in the reading and lecture lists at Oxford, her research interests lie in the intersection of postcolonialism and ecocriticism in Indigenous Australian fiction.
As part of her internship at the Centre for Teaching and Learning, Jacqueline is working on the Race and the curriculum project.
In addition to her research interests, she was drawn to the internship project because of her experiences as an Asian International student, and her work with other ethnic minority students as the JCR International Student Representative on the St Catherine’s College Equalities Committee at Oxford.
I am excited to be working on this project with a diverse team of students, staff and academics to gain insight into how teaching at Oxford is formulated. I am also looking forward working on a project that seeks to have a tangible impact on the learning experiences and sense of belonging of all individuals at Oxford, particularly minority students.
