Zihao He completed a Mst in Study of Religions at Trinity College in 2022.
He participated in the Centre for Teaching and Learning's Student Experience Internship Scheme during the summer 2022, working on a project to gather information on students’ access to services which support the development of their academic literacies across the collegiate University.
Zihao comes from northern China and is interested in all kinds of phenomena and institutions that we call ‘religion’ in human society, especially Christianity, Islam, religious violence, and the interaction between religions and popular culture.
Besides reading and exploring topics related to religious study, he is into rock music and Rock n’ Roll culture (especially the so-called Brit-Pop, and his favourite bands are the Beatles and Oasis).
Through the internship, Zihao wishes to reach out to the wider student community, and hear from them about their experience, understanding, and expectations about academic support during the journey of studying.
I am really enjoying viewing and understanding the academic journey at Oxford from another angle, especially with the collaborative relationship with tutors to together make some changes. The most exciting thing is that our effort would contribute to a long-term project to improve the academic support and study experience at Oxford. Although this is my first internship to work in an English-speaking environment, I do not feel it is hard to be integrated as everyone in the CTL and this internship project are approachable, responsible for the work, and friendly.
