Academic Skills Special Interest Group

This is the first in-person gathering of the Academic Skills Special Interest Group and is open to anyone at Oxford interested and involved in developing students' academic skills – including academics, professional support staff and graduate students who are engaged in delivering and/or supporting students' academic skills development at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Join us to:

  • Share insights and practice around academic skills development work from different perspectives across the collegiate University
  • Discuss some of the common challenges we encounter
  • Explore effective, collaborative approaches.

Please note this session will be limited to 25 participants.

Digital Education Technologies User Group

This is the first in-person gathering of the Digital Education Technologies User Group and is open to anyone at Oxford interested in exploring the use of digital tools to support flexible and inclusive teaching and learning.

Join us to connect with colleagues and take advantage of the benefits of being together in the same room to ask questions and share experiences and expertise over refreshments.

Representatives from the teams supporting Oxford's digital education technologies – Canvas, Panopto, Teams, Nexus 365, ORLO and Inspera – will be on hand to answer specific questions, and to introduce you to peers who are facing similar opportunities and/or challenges.

Putting digitally supported inclusive teaching into action: a collaborative workshop

This workshop will introduce the new Digitally Supported Inclusive Teaching Toolkit through a series of interactive and collaborative activities, and is suitable for participants with a wide range of teaching and learning support roles

At the workshop, colleagues will be supported to use the toolkit to develop an action plan for enhancing digitally supported inclusive teaching in their teaching context (eg course/programme/department).

To make the most out of this workshop, participants are encouraged to attend with one or two colleagues with whom they work closely in their teaching. 

Please note this workshop will be limited to 25 participants and all participants must register.

Inclusive Teaching Special Interest Group

This is the first meeting of our new Inclusive Teaching Special Interest Group and is open to anyone at Oxford with an interest in sharing and developing inclusive teaching practices across the collegiate University.

The group will also be of interest to staff who wish to develop their understanding of the most effective and efficient ways to meet the institutional anticipatory duty towards disabled students under the Equality Act. 

Join us to:

  • Meet peers and connect around a shared interest in inclusive teaching practices
  • Hear short talks from invited colleagues
  • Discuss topics of mutual interest and agree topics for future meetings. 

Please note this session will be limited to 25 participants.
